About Jamie Nagle

Portrait of Jamie Nagle
Nagle received his undergraduate degree from MIT in 1991 and his Ph.D. from Yale University in 1997. He joined the University of Colorado Boulder Physics Department  in 2003. His research is in experimental nuclear physics studying a novel state of matter composed of deconfined quarks and gluons that existed in the earliest stages of the universe. He served as Co-Spokesperson for the PHENIX experiment and founded the current sPHENIX Department of Energy Project.

He is the proud owner of a Boston Terrier named "Quark" and is a amatuer ultra-marathoner - one of the faster ones amongst middle aged nuclear physicists.
