Navy Option:

  • Calculus I & II (College-Level Calculus)
  • Physics  I & II (Calculus-based)
  • 2 English courses (Writing Intensive)
  • 1 American Military History OR National Security Policy course
  • 1 Cultural Studies course 
  • 8 Naval Science courses (one per semester)
  • Note: AP credits can fulfill some of these requirements. However, at least one Calculus and one Physics course must be taken in the collegiate environment.

​Marine Option:

  • 2 English courses (Writing Intensive)
  • 1 American Military History OR National Security Policy course
  • 6 Naval Science courses

Language, Regional Expertise, & Culture (LREC) Policy
Pass/Fail Policy

CU NROTC Pass/Fail policy for students will be as follows:

  • All Naval Science Courses must be taken as A-F option.
  • If taking Physics or Calculus to meet NROTC requirements, these courses shall be taken as A-F option.
  • All other courses can be taken as the MIDN choose provided they make adequate progress towards their degree.
  • Those that are already on Academic Probation or LOA are required to take courses as an A-F option.
  • MIDN are still required to make adequate progress towards their degree. 
  • All courses taken to fulfill NROTC requirements for American History / National Security Policy, World Culture and Regional Studies, and English shall be taken as A-F option. 
  • All of this policy applies to summer 2020 classes
  • Advanced standing students ONLY:
    • Classes taken to fulfill NROTC physical science or Math requirement shall be taken as an A-F option.  
    • This means that if you are a MIDN on Advanced Standing and are NOT taking Calculus and Physics to meet the NROTC Math/Science requirement, then whatever Math and Physical Science course you are taking to fulfill the requirement must be taken as A-F option.
