How to find an Internship

Finding an internship can be challenging and feel overwhelming. The resources below can help you get started in a productive format.

Open Internship Opportunities

Internship opportunities that are open to all students are regularly identified by MCDB faculty. You can find a list of identified current openings in the Denver/Boulder region using the link below. This list is updated bi-weekly and opportunities that have closed will be moved to the Past Opportunities Page (see more below). Be aware that internships are generally only posted for a short period of time and may be listed many months before they are set to take place. For example, many summer internship applications open in December and close by mid-January. This is NOT a comprehensive list of opportunities.

Past Internship Opportunities

You can also explore opportunities that have closed within the last calendar year to get a sense of what types of internships are available in this area and when they are generally open. This is also not a comprehensive list, and there is no guarantee that all opportunities will occur every year, but many do.

MCDB has partnered with several organizations to facilitate internships specifically for CU Boulder students. You can find a list of our partners as well as a short description of their work below. You must apply and be accepted into these positions they are not guaranteed. If you are interested in applying for positions with any of our partners, please contact Dr. Kristin Moore (kristin.a.moore@colorado.edu) for more information. Generally internships are available during the fall, spring, and/or summer semesters.

Many past CU alumni are currently working in industries where internships are common. Reaching out to former students and CU Boulder alumni can be an excellent way of finding opportunities. Utilize the CU Buffs Forever Network, Handshake, and LinkedIn to start your search.
