We are horrified by the recent killings of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and many other racially motivated incidents that have been ongoing for decades. We stand in solidarity with all who are speaking out against racial injustice. MCDB desires to create a welcoming environment for all, but we recognize we still have a long way to go to increase diversity throughout our department. Decision-makers among us must ensure inclusion and equal representation. We must all speak up against racism and inequality when we see it and constantly work to eliminate these injustices. We stand by, and with, all of our members, particularly our members of color who face such realities every day. What we have done so far is simply not enough. We need to do better.  We pledge to listen and act. We pledge to fight racism and reaffirm our efforts to build a more inclusive community. #BlackLivesMatter
