W.E. Briggs Teaching Excellence Award
The W.E. Briggs Teaching Excellence Award is given annually to first-year graduate teaching assistants or graduate part-time instructors in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Colorado at Boulder in recognition of outstanding accomplishments in teaching.
William E. Briggs was a faculty member of the Department of Mathematics from 1955 until 1988, and served as Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences from 1963 until 1980. The W. E. Briggs Teaching Excellence Award is supported by the B. W. Jones and W. E. Briggs Teaching Excellence Award fund.
