Students have the option to choose two preferences but are not required to.
Students will not be contacted prior to a move. By submitting a request, students agree to a hall change if they are selected in the process.
Hall changes through these processes are considered by randomly selecting students with requests based on preferences, eligibility, and availability. Student Housing will re-assign students to a new space if they are selected in the process.
Hall changes do not include roommates. If you are assigned to a new room, you will also be assigned new roommates (with the exception of individual room assignments).
Students who participate in either of the Hall Change Processes will receive results of each process by the above dates notifying them if they were selected for a change or not.
If a student request a change during the April process and isn’t selected, they may resubmit a request during the June process to try again.
Student Housing tries to accommodate as many requests as possible, however, participation in the Housing Change Processes does not guarantee a room change.
After Occupancy Room Change Process
This process will begin the Wednesday after move-in, August 26 at 9 a.m..
This process is available throughout the academic year:
Fall Semester – August 26 through November
Spring Semester – January until Spring Break in March
Room changes do not include roommates. If you are assigned to a new room, you will also be assigned new roommates (with the exception of individual room assignments).
To request a change, login to myCUliving (use myculiving link), click the 3 lines on the top left and choose Room Change Waitlist from the drop down menu
In the request, students may choose up to two hall/living experience (RAP, LLC, or Traditional) and room type preferences.
