Apartment Style living is open to sophmore/second-year status or beyond residents, deferral and non first-year transfer students. This living experience offers the independence of off-campus living with the convenience and support of being located within campus housing in the Williams Village neighborhood. Students sign individual contracts for the academic year which includes winter break.  They also have the ability to sign a separate summer housing contract. Our apartment style options include multiple types of fully furnished apartments, full kitchens, free tutoring through the Academic Success and Achievement Program (ASAP) and community-building activities and events.

To live in Apartment Style living you must:

  • Be a currently enrolled CU Boulder student or have confirmed your intent to enroll with the Office of Admissions for the upcoming semester.
  • Be in second-year sophomore or beyond standing, have deferred your first-year enrollment, transferred to CU after the first year, or in need of housing during winter break.
  • Be an undergraduate student with a minimum of six (6) credits per semester.

Returning Student Application Timeline and Process

This process is for students who have current campus housing contracts. At this time we will have limited housing available in Bear Creek B Building. The process for the 2021-22 contract is different from past years.

  • Feb. 15-17: Current residents are able to submit an application for Bear Creek housing.
  • Feb. 22: Residents are notified of a time-slot to select a space in Bear Creek B Building (or of their waitlist status).
  • Feb. 22-26: Residents will self-select an assignment from available spaces within Bear Creek B Building.
  • March 8: Waitlist application opens for all current students
  • March 10: Room change waitlist opens.
  • May 14: Last day to cancel without cancellation charges.

Application Process

  • You must be an undergraduate student with a minimum of sophomore standing to be eligible for Bear Creek B Building housing. Graduate student status will terminate the contract/application.
  • Applications will be part of a priority random selection process.
  • Applications not selected will be placed on a waitlist and will have priority as spaces are vacated.
  • If chosen from random selection, residents will each be assigned a time-slot when they are able to begin the self-selection process for a space within Bear Creek B Building.
  • Assignment to any apartment type or space is based on availability at the time a student reviews available spaces (Feb. 22-26). Space availability will continue to change during the self-selection process, so you are encouraged to continue checking if you don’t initially find your desired space.
  • Roommate assignments will be made during the self-selection process. If your desired roommate has a time-slot different than yours, we have left the process open to give students the ability to make changes and view vacancies until Feb. 26.
  • We recommend selecting a space, even if it isn’t your first choice, during your time-slot.
  • Students who have not self-selected a space by 11:59 p.m. on Feb. 26 will have their application wait listed and will need to submit preferences on March 8.
  • A room change waitlist will be available March 10 for spaces that become available due to cancellations.

We strongly encourage those seeking housing to reach out to Off Campus Housing & Neighborhood Relations to understand all of the non-campus housing options available.
