Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, Laurel earned her BA in Spanish with a minor in Business Administration from the University of Central Missouri. While at UCM, she was a member of the university’s Concert Choir, and she spent a year studying abroad in both Spain and Costa Rica. Her experiences abroad led her to working in international higher education; prior to joining the Academic Advising Center in 2020, she was a Program Manager in the CU Boulder Education Abroad office for several years. She’s excited to transition to advising Linguistics, Political Science and Sociology students!

In her spare time, Laurel enjoys traveling, playing volleyball, music, hiking, reading, binge watching, spending time with her family, and watching every KC Chiefs game.
