The Department is pleased to announce the release of our 2020 Linguistics Undergraduate Research Awards, otherwise known as LURA. Each spring, the Department invites faculty, GPTIs, and TAs to nominate students in their classes (both introductory and advanced) who have authored outstanding essays and/or research projects. Under the coordination of Associate Chair for Undergraduate Studies, Prof. Kira Hall, the nominees are then asked to create short blogs about their research. You can find the new blog posts authored by our 2020 winners (all 17 of them!) at the above link.

Please join us in celebrating the winners of this prestigious award: Sabrina Cohen, Mae Cosgrove, Max Dwight, Abby Ehrhard, Hana Hawkins & Taylor Salazar, Eve Judge, Sev Kiroglu, Samantha Bartolo, & Nicolas Carranza, Annabel Needham & Caitlin Schwartz, Carolyn Olmsted, Jewel Ornelas, Gin Quesada Lara, Zachary Ryan, Sarah Schwallier, Scout Sojak, Maya Stephens, Paige Tapia, and Laura Wild.

Special thanks go to Josh Daniels, our graduate student web designer, Prof. Laura Michaelis, our department chair, and the ASSETT Faculty Fellows Program, which set this project into motion with its appointment of Prof. Hall as a Faculty Fellow.

Congratulations to all and happy reading!
