Prof. Kira Hall is the new President-elect of the Society for Linguistic Anthropology, the flagship organization within the American Anthropological Association for the study of language and social life.  Over 250 scholars were in attendance at the November 2017 SLA business meeting in Washington DC to welcome Prof. Hall to her new position. She joins a distinguished list of linguistic anthropologists who have served the Society as president since its founding in 1983. Congratulations, Kira!
