On Monday, February 16, 2015 the CU Lighting Program will host Charles G. Stone II, President of Fisher Marantz Stone. Mr. Stone will give a 60 minute talk titled "Cultural Light: the Instinctive and the Indigenous".

A career in lighting design knows no national borders. We go where the work takes us to many cities across continents and at times delve deeply into local cultural mores and business practices. This talk will explore the similarities and differences in how various cultures perceive, feel, express, and realize light in the built environment. Some effects and preferences seem to be instinctive, while others are unique and indigenous. A sensitive understanding of these attributes will enrich our appreciation of the luminous environment and make us better ambassadors of light.

This talk is open to the public and all are welcome. The talk will be at 6:00pm - 7:00pm. in Classroom ECCR 245 in the classroom wing of the Engineering Center on the CU Boulder Campus.
