Dr. Kent Warren was named an “Outstanding Presentation Award Winner” for his remote presentation titled “Solar Thermochemical Water Splitting Using Iron-aluminate Spinels,” presented at the 11th SOLARIS 2021 International Conference (Int’l Symposium on Solar Energy and Efficient Energy usage) held in Tokyo, Japan.  The SOLARIS award committee examined the award selection based on recommendation and strict reviews.

Hailey Louhde-Woolard, 3rd Yr Ph.D student, was awarded a first place poster award by the Sustainable Engineering Forum for her in-person poster, “CO2 Capture Using Amine-Functionalized Fumed Silica via Molecular Layer Deposition”, presented at the 2021 Annual Meeting of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) held in Boston.

Jessica Hauck, 2nd Yr Ph.D. student, was awarded a first place poster award by the Particle Technology Forum for her in-person poster, “Modular Processing of Flare Gas for Carbon Nanoproducts”, presented at the 2021 Annual Meeting of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) held in Boston.

Maddie McGrath, an Undergraduate Senior, received an in-person poster presentation award by the Materials Science Division for her poster, “Atomic layer deposited boron nitride films act as high temperature hydrogen barriers”, presented at the 2021 Annual Meeting of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) held in Boston.
