EDUCATION
B.S. Chemistry, The Ohio State University

Katarina joined the Weimer group in Fall 2020 after graduating from The Ohio State University earlier that year. Under the mentorship of Sherwin Singer, her undergraduate research project investigated the time-dependent fluorescence Stokes shift of indole. During a summer internship with Dirk Reith at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg, she worked toward the parameterization of a force field compatible with ionic liquids for carbon capture simulations. Working toward sustainable energy goals motivated her transition from theoretical chemistry to chemical engineering for graduate studies. At CU, she works on designing materials for solar-thermal energy storage.
