B.S. Chemical Engineering, University of Missouri – Columbia
B.A. Music, University of Missouri – Columbia

Julie graduated in 2020 from the University of Missouri – Columbia. During her undergraduate years, she researched bioactive hydrogels at MU and interned at the Idaho National Lab and Argonne National Lab, where she researched the energy requirements of an osmotically driven process and the tribology of using bio-based lubricants, respectively. Julie joined Team Weimer in the Fall of 2020 to study the effect of particle atomic layer deposition (ALD) on lithium-ion battery materials. She splits her time working in Team Weimer, interning at Forge Nano, and running molecular dynamics simulations to study the ALD film-cathode interface. The summer of 2022, she was a Colorado Science and Engineering Policy Fellow and researched policy for the end-of-life managemnet of electric vehicle batteries. During quiet moments, Julie plays the viola.
