Carter Wilson

  • Graduate Research Assistant
  • SOLAR THERMAL CHEMICAL PROCESSING

EDUCATION
B.S. Chemical Engineering, University of Colorado Boulder
M.S. Chemical Systems Engineering, University of Tokyo

Carter graduated from CU Boulder in 2022 where he worked in Team Weimer supporting solar thermochemical gas splitting investigations. Following his undergraduate studies, he pursued his M.S. in chemical systems engineering at the University of Tokyo. His master’s thesis focused on the development of catalysts for ammonia synthesis at mild conditions, particularly improving the productivity of ruthenium catalysts by electronically tuning partially reducible metal oxide supports. After defending his thesis in Japan, Carter returned to Team Weimer in 2024; his current research builds from his undergraduate foci, applying previous research on iron aluminate materials in STGS processes to solar-driven partial oxidation of methane/syngas production schemes. Feel free to ask him about his dog, Casper, the goodest boy.
