AOS 2026 was a success!

Sara, Will, Lucas, Sam, Nate, Eva, and Scott all recently attended the 2026 American Ornithological Society meeting in Amherst, Massachusetts. Sheela and Maria also attended the conference and Angela came for a dinner visit! It was awesome to spend time with lab members old and new, as well as old friends!

Sara, Will, and Lucas all gave talks - back to back no less - in Genomics I. Sara presented her latest results examining genotype X winter environmental associations in black-capped chickadees, Lucas presented on his RNAseq analyses of black-capped and Carolina chickadees, and Will presented on his new findings of neosex chromosomes in house wrens! All three gave excellent talks and Will was awarded an honorable mention for his.

Sam, Nate, and Eva all presented posters on their undergraduate honors thesis work: the impacts of scaly leg mites in mountain chickadees, incubation patterns in chickadees, and provisioning behavior in chickadees, respectively.

And Lucas won the 5K!
