Nate and Ben start senior scientist positions
Our two fresh Ph.D. graduates recently started senior scientist positions -- Nate Abraham at AbbVie in Chicago and Ben Coscia at Schrödinger in Portland. Here is how they describe their engagement at the new jobs:
Nate: “My job responsibility is to help develop and deploy in silico tools to support the efforts of the Solid State Chemistry Group at AbbVie. One of my main projects is conducting crystal structure predictions in house to help motivate experimental design and assess the risk of a more stable polymorph existing.”
Ben: "On a daily basis, I use the skills I learned in the Shirts group in order to apply atomistic and coarse grain molecular dynamics simulations to the design of novel polymers and soft materials. This includes carrying out contract research projects for customers, testing new features of Schrodinger's Materials Science Suite, developing tutorials for users, and carrying out more fundamental internal research projects."
We wish both of them the best of luck in their continued scientific endeavors!
