Processing Times

ISSS strives to process all requests in an efficient manner. 

• Requests are processed in the order they are submitted and cannot be expedited within the typical processing timeframe.
• Some requests send additional forms to academic advisors, deans, program administrators, or other second approvers. ISSS cannot begin processing the request until we receive the form back from these parties.

Processing times are based on ISSS receiving a complete request [all e-forms in the request completed by student/scholar and, if applicable, second approvers (e.g., academic advisor, department administrator)].

F-1 & J-1 Student Forms

J-1 Scholar Forms

• 7-10 business days 

Departmental DS-2019 Requests

• 10 business days

Departmental H-1B Petitions

• 4-6 weeks
