Buff Pantry Move & Food Assistance Services

Feed the Stampede serves as the food assistance program for the University of Colorado Boulder. We work to ensure students experiencing any level of food insecurity have the necessary knowledge, resources and access to enough food to meet their needs in an emergency or on-going basis.

Buff Pantry

The Buff Pantry, our on-campus food pantry accessible to all students, has moved locations. It is still in the University Memorial Center, but it has moved to the basement (1B73), near the bookstore. There is signage in that area to help locate it.

The Buff Pantry is a resource for students who struggle with any level of food insecurity. To visit the Buff Pantry, students must fill out a one-time Client Intake Form, and then sign up for an appointment or come to our walk-up hours. Students can visit the pantry up to once a week and receive 20 pounds of groceries, including shelf stable products, fresh produce, and personal care items.

The Buff Pantry hours are as follows:

  • Monday: 1 p.m. - 6 p.m. (by appointment)
  • Tuesday: 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. (by appointment)
  • Wednesday: 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. (for walk-ups)

Food Assistance Services

In addition to the Buff Pantry, we also offer other food assistance services for the CU community.

  • Every month, we hold a Mobile Food Pantry that is open to CU Boulder students, faculty, and staff, as well as other community members of Boulder. Attendees can walk up or drive through to receive up to 30 pounds of food. These will begin in September; specific locations and dates are to be decided.
  • SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) is a program for those that have been offered work-study or have significant financial need as determined by the 2020-21 FAFSA. With SNAP, students are eligible for a monthly stipend for groceries that can be used in many different stores. Applications and eligibility criteria can be found at Colorado PEAK
  • Beyond Feed the Stampede, there are other food assistance resources in Boulder County for those that need them. These include community food banks, grab-and-go groceries and lunches, mobile food banks, and general financial and food assistance services.

More information about all these resources, as well as ways to get involved in the Feed the Stampede program (food drives, volunteer opportunities), can be found on the Volunteer Resource Center's website.
