University Spotlight: Career Services

Career Services provides support for our international students at any stage of career development. We serve both undergraduate and graduate students in all majors. Services included choosing a major or career path, reviewing resumes and cover letters, how to job search and talk about your work status, networking, preparing for career fairs, practicing interview skills, and more. We also help international students identify what internships or jobs align with their major for CPT or OPT. Career Services offers individual appointments along with workshops and presentations on these topics. We also offer international student-specific workshops, with our final two this month.

  • Unwritten Rules of the U.S. Job Market

  • Interviewing for International Students

There are also several online resources available to students in our eResource Library. Students have access to Handshake which includes a job board, list of on-campus events and workshops, career fairs, on-campus interviews, and scheduling individual appointments with a career advisor. Another online resource is Going Global which has a search feature for companies that have sponsored H1B visas, along with career guides for a variety of cities and countries worldwide.

We highly encourage international students to come in for an appointment early in their education so they can begin preparing to find an internship or job.
