If a student comes in to Wardenburg seeking a medical forensic/evidence exam (Sexual Assault Nurse Examination - SANE) after a sexual assault, we will refer them to a local hospital that provides this service. We also assist students with transportation to a local hospital that provides SANE program.

There are several local hospitals that provide the medical forensic/evidence exams.

In addition to these locations, there a variety of other facilities that provide the SANE program in Colorado.

If a student would like to get a forensic/SANE exam without consultation they can call police directly and tell the dispatcher that they want to report a sexual assault and would like to preserve evidence, the police can transport them to the SANE exam. If they do not want to contact the police, they can go directly to Boulder Community Hospital and ask for a SANE exam. If a student does not have transportation to the hospital, Wardenburg will assist them with arranging transportation. They can also take the Stampede or the Jump bus. They can also use RTD's Trip Planner Tool to check bus schedules and directions from their location to Boulder Community Hospital Foothills Campus. Other transportation options to get to the hospital are taxicab (303-777-7777) and or a ride with a friend/support person.
