If you’re feeling stressed, overwhelmed, overloaded or anxious about work or life, here are some tips to help you identify, manage and find support.

Stress can negatively impact our nervous systems. Here are some tips to help you manage stress and anxiety in the moment and long-term.

Participating in regular movement (i.e. physical activity or exercise) has proven benefits for both our minds and bodies. Here are some tools to help you move your body in a safe and healthy way. 

If you're feeling distressed or anxious about the impacts of climate change, here are a few coping strategies that may help. 

Support services

CU Boulder has a variety of services available to help students, staff and faculty improve their mental health and well-being. 

Available for: Students 

CAPS provides mental health support for all CU Boulder students, including mental health screenings, brief individual therapy, group therapy, workshops, crisis support and more. 

Note: Summer services are available for students who are in the state of Colorado. Recent graduates can access CAPS services through July 31. 

Available for: Staff, faculty, employees 

FSAP provides free mental health services for all CU Boulder staff and faculty, including brief counseling, community referrals, workshops and support groups. Virtual and in-person drop-in hours are available. 

Note: Employees do not need to use sick time or PTO in order to use these services. 

Available for: Students, staff, faculty, employees  

OVA provides free and confidential information, consultation, support, advocacy and short-term, trauma-focused counseling services for students who have experienced and/or witnessed a traumatic or disturbing event. 

Available for: Students 

AcademicLiveCare is a free telehealth platform that allows students to schedule and attend mental health and medical appointments from anywhere. 

Note: This is a great option for students who are out of state. 

Available for: Students, staff, faculty, employees 

The CUCRC provides recovery-focused support meetings for students who are in recovery or interested in pursuing recovery from drugs, alcohol, eating concerns, self-harm and other unwanted behaviors. 

The Real Help Hotline

Available for: Staff, faculty, employees 

The Real Help Hotline provides access to professional counselors who can offer assistance finding local resources as well as immediate crisis counseling. This program is free, confidential and available to all employees 24/7 at 833-533-2428. 

Available for: Students, staff, faculty, employees 

The Rec Center is a great place to get active, meet people, explore hobbies and find community. Summer membership required. 

Available for: Staff, faculty, employees 

WorkWell is here to support the health and well-being of our staff and faculty across the CU Boulder community by providing resources, workshops, programs and training opportunities.
