Slavic Culture Week is an annual spring event, sponsored by the REEES Program and GSLL.  Specific events include guest speakers, who are experts on a variety of topics, including  art; a film screening (with subtitles); and “Russian Idol,” in which Russian language students demonstrate their talents through songs and comic theatrical performance, all in Russian; the audience can also sample traditional Russian bliny and cookies. There is also a workshop on creating pisanky—a traditional style of coloring eggs using wax and special dyes. The final day of Slavic Culture Week is an outdoor event with live musical performances, dancing, and traditional foods and games. Slavic Culture Week usually takes place in late spring—so watch for schedule updates: you don’t want to miss it!
