Research Interests

Primary Research Focus: My research explores the effects of anthropogenic perturbations to the marine carbon cycle (i.e., ocean acidification) on the mineralogical and crystallographic properties of calcareous organisms’ skeletons, with an emphasis on stony corals, through Raman spectroscopy.

General Areas of Interest: Raman spectroscopy; Calcium carbonate geochemistry; Chemical oceanography; Ocean acidification; Biomineralization; Geochronology
