David Fernando Bachrach is a third-year PhD Candidate in the Department of Geography. He received a 2023-2024 Fulbright Research Award to support his dissertation research project "Global China and the Techno-Politics of the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway". By undertaking a long-term qualitative study of the high-speed railway, his project will provide a nuanced account of a key infrastructure project for both Indonesia and China. In particular, it will deepen understandings of the multi-scalar effects of the high-speed rail project for Indonesian and Chinese stakeholders and local communities
