Meet new people

Working on-campus with other student employees allows you to meet and spend time with fellow Buffs. Departments like the Rec Center, Environmental Center and Housing & Dining Services are some of the largest employers of students.

Gain experience to include on your resume

There are skills you can develop with on-campus jobs that you can use in your future career. These include customer service, communication and interpersonal skills. There are also many student jobs specific to your industry, such as graphic design and research. All of these experiences look great on a resume.

Get to know CU faculty and staff

On-campus employment offers opportunities to work more closely with faculty and staff. Staff and faculty can become mentors, and potentially lead to future internship, research opportunities or letters of recommendation.

Flexible schedule

Most on-campus jobs and paid research studies offer flexible scheduling. Most students work between 10 and 15 hours a week, with a maximum of 25 hours per week for part-time jobs. Your hours can be scheduled around your class schedule and other commitments.
