The new Idea Forge, housed in the Fleming Building, is seeking reliable, energetic undergraduates to fill up to 5 undergraduate Earn Learn Apprentices (ELAs) for the spring semester. The Idea Forge is aflexible, cross-disciplinary collaborative space where students can imagine, design, create, and test products and solutions to meet a range of societal and customer needs. The space includes Design Center Colorado and will support student teams working on invention and innovation as part of courses, as well as design and development driven by entrepreneurial-minded individuals and service-oriented groups. The space is meant as a compliment to the ITLL.

Working in the Idea Forge provides the opportunity to be a part of an exciting new program on campus and in the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

  •          Average of 10 hours/week
  •          Must be a student in the College of Engineering and Applied Science

Duties include working with Idea Forge engineers, faculty, and staff on overseeing the Idea Forge and enforcing the rules and safety standards for the space. Typical tasks include marketing, website updates, social media, creating promotional materials, giving tours, answering questions, and collaborating with other students. Students  ELAs will help maintain the building and shop and ensure the security of the facility. 

We welcome applications from undergraduates from any year (freshman-senior) and are especially interested in hiring 2 junior/senior applicants available to work 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. two nights a week, Monday through Thursday.
