East Campus Map

A. Institute of Behavioral Genetics (IBG)

IBG is at the highest risk of debris impact due to its proximity to Boulder Creek. Stay clear of external walls, windows and doors especially on the south and west sides of the building. Flood waters will enter through doors, windows and other openings and can be expected on the grade floor as well as the crawl space below. Water will rise to approximately 2.5 feet above the finished floor elevation during a 100-year flood and 3 feet above the finished floor elevation during the 500-year flood. Proceed to the second floor and wait for flood waters to recede.

B. Life Sciences Research Lab 4 (RL-4)

RL-4 is not at risk for substantial debris impact. Grade floor is not susceptible to any substantial amount of flood water from a 100 or 500-yr event. During the event of a 100 or 500-yr flood, water will surround the building.

C. National Snow and Ice Data Center (RL-2)

Debris impact poses a high risk to RL-2. Stay clear of external walls, windows and doors especially on the west side of the building. The basement and first floor will experience flooding due to a 100-yr or 500-yr event. The basement will become completely submerged. On the first floor, flood waters can be expected to reach a height of approximately 1 foot during the 100-year flood and 2 feet during the 500-year flood. Proceed to the third floor until water recedes.

D. Litman Research Lab 1 (RL-1)

Due to its location, RL-1 has a moderate potential for debris impact. Stay clear of west facing external walls, doors and windows. First floor will not experience flood waters. Basement, crawl spaces and mechanical rooms will be subject to flooding. These rooms will be almost entirely submerged by a 100-yr event due to water entering through internal drains as well as building vents. Stay clear of these rooms until water recedes.

E. Administrative and Research Center (ARCE)

Substantial debris impact is not expected at this location. Basement (grade level) is highly susceptible to flood waters. Water will enter primarily through doors, windows and floor drains. Water will reach approximately 1 foot in depth during the 100-year flood and 2 feet during the 500-year flood. Proceed to the sixth floor and wait for water to recede.

F. Electric Substation

No human occupancy. Debris impact will be minimal at this location. Waters will enter through doors, internal drains and electrical conduits and can be expected to rise to approximately one to two feet above finished floor elevation.

F. Warehouses

No human occupancy. These buildings are located in a flood water conveyance channel, giving them a substantial possibility for debris impact. There’s a risk of potential shallow flooding during the 100 and 500-year floods and the building will be surrounded by water.

East Campus Close Up B

G. Science Learning Laboratory (SLL)

Debris impact may occur on the south and west sides of the building but is not expected in any substantial amount. Grade level floor will be at risk for shallow flooding by 100 and 500-yr flooding event. Building will be surrounded by water and basement will be flooded by water flowing in through internal floor drains. Stay clear of basement until water recedes.

H. Transportation Services

Substantial debris impact is not expected at this location. Flood waters will enter through doors, windows and floor drains although most flow can be expected to enter through overhead garage doors. There’s a risk of potential shallow flooding during 100 and 500-year flood. Proceed to MSSC unless swift flood waters are already present.

I. Marine Street Science Center (MSSC)

Debris impact is not expected at this location. MSSC will remain essentially dry during a 100-yr or 500-yr event. Water will surround the building and slight seepage may occur along the north wall but not enough to warrant evacuation.

J. Housing Systems Service Center (HSSC)

Debris impact is not expected at this location. Grade floor is not susceptible to any substantial amount of flood water from a 100-yr or 500-yr event. Water will surround the building, and the basement will flood to a level of approximately ten feet due to entry through internal drains and stairways. Avoid basement until water recedes.

K. Computing Center

Debris impact is not expected in any substantial amount. Grade floor is not susceptible to any substantial amount of flood water from a 100 or 500-yr event, however water will surround the building.

L. Housing Systems Maintenance Center (HSMC)

Debris impact is not expected at this location. HSMC will remain dry during a 100-yr and 500-yr event however, water will surround the building.

East Campus Close Up C

M. Sybase- Evacuation Class 1

Debris impact is not expected at this location. Grade floor is not susceptible to any substantial amount of flood water from a 100 or 500-yr event, however, water will surround the building.

N. LASP Space Technology Research Center

Debris impact is not expected at this location. Grade floor is not susceptible to any substantial amount of flood water from a 100 or 500-yr event, however, water will surround the building.
