Let's Talk: Informal Consultations

Let’s Talk is a free service where CU Boulder students can stop by for an informal and confidential consultation with a counselor. Let's Talk counselors can help provide insight, solutions and information about additional resources.

Walk-in and Screening Services

If you would like to speak with someone to discuss options for counseling or psychiatric treatment or take a mental health screening, you are welcome to access our walk-in services located in our main office in the Center for Community Suite N352.

Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the CAPS main office (C4C N352)

To ensure you are seen, please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the end of walk-in hours. Students can call ahead to schedule a mental health screening and avoid the wait during walk-in hours. 

Upon arrival for walk-in, you will be asked to complete some initial forms on the computer that will help us understand how to support you. All records are kept confidential and separate from your student record.

Once these forms are complete, you will have the opportunity to meet briefly with a walk-in counselor to discuss your concerns and what you hope to gain from CAPS services. The walk-in counselor will help you understand what your options are, the scope of our services, and work with you to determine what will best meet your needs. You will leave knowing the next step and have a plan of action.
