Kyle Mares, MFA
- (He/Him/His)
- Conference Operations Specialist
- CUCS

Kyle joined the CUCS team in 2025 with 11 years of corporate and non-profit conference management experience. Kyle earned his bachelor's degree in Literature from University of Redlands in 2004 and his master’s degree in Creative Writing from Naropa University in 2012. Kyle was initially drawn to event coordination by producing creator events while working as an assistant at a comic book store and then as part of the events team at Boulder Bookstore. That ignited a spark that carried him to event coordination as his profession, allowing him to travel across the country for various conferences. Professionally, Kyle’s joy for events and conferences comes from being able to see these special projects through from beginning to end and creating enduring connections with coworkers, volunteers, and guests along the way. He is passionate about community justice programs and helping to elevate knowledge of available resources to those who need them. Kyle and his partner live among growing piles of to-be-read books and walls of oddities. Their dog, Ouija, ensures they explore large swathes of Boulder each and every day.
