CMCI ambassadors are students who serve as liaisons between prospective students, parents and the university. They promote CMCI and provide connections between prospective and current CMCI students, staff, faculty, alumni and donors through informational and outreach events. CMCI ambassadors also assist the college's communication team with content aimed at prospective students.

What do CMCI ambassadors do?

  • General admission tours of the Armory, ENVD space (home to Information Science) and the broadcast studio in the Roser ATLAS building.

  • Periodically walk prospective students and families around campus for an unofficial campus tour. This happens when CU Admissions is not offering campus tours, or they are full.

  • Assist with CU Admissions events (Explore CU, Admitted Students Day, etc.)

  • Assist with CMCI Admissions events (CMCI Preview, Computing on Campus, etc.)

  • Assist with summer, fall and spring New Student Welcome events

  • Attend alumni and donor events

  • Assist with other CMCI events (Homecoming, Family Weekend, etc.)

The 2018 CMCI ambassador team will be comprised of three Lead Ambassadors and five to seven Core Ambassadors.

What are the differences between Lead Ambassadors and Core Ambassadors?
Lead Ambassadors are paid student workers, whose positions span an academic year. They work weekly office hours, assist with administrative tasks and attend training meetings every two weeks. These positions are currently full. Core Ambassadors are student volunteers, whose positions span one semester. They are only required to attend one meeting each month. These positions are currently open.

While Lead Ambassador positions are currently full, students who serve as Core Ambassadors will be eligible to apply for a Lead Ambassador position in late spring.

All Core Ambassadors are required to attend a monthly meeting which occurs as follows:

  • Monday, Feb. 12 from 2:30 to 4 p.m.

  • Monday, March 12 from 2:30 to 4 p.m.

  • Monday, April 9 from 2:30 to 4 p.m.

Core Ambassador applications are now open! The application is due Feb. 1, 2018.
