Career FairThe CMCI fall career fair will be on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 5:30 p.m. in room 235 of the University Memorial Center. Here are five preparation tips:

  1. Bring your BuffOne card.
You’ll need it to get into the fair.

  2. Get your resume together.
Haven’t updated your resume in a while? Make sure it’s in tip-top shape before the fair, and be sure to print several copies to give to potential employers. Check out this video for helpful resume tips.

  3. Dress to impress.
Plan for a business casual event. First impressions matter, so make sure to dress professionally before you meet prospective employers. Be sure to get your outfit together beforehand so that you can make sure it’s clean, ironed and ready to go.

  4. Review the list of employers prior to the fair.
There’s going to be a lot of companies at the fair, so maximize your time by checking out which employers you are most interested in talking to. You may also want to research those companies ahead of time to see what positions or internships they’re looking for. The list of company RSVPs is featured on our career fair Facebook event.

  5. Attend the pre-fair workshop.
CMCI Internships will be hosting a career fair prep and resume review workshop on the same day as the fair. Topics covered include: how to prepare, what to bring, how to dress, how to interact with employers and how to follow-up with employers after the fair. RSVP on the workshop’s Facebook event. The workshop is from noon to 2 p.m. in the CMCI advising center at Folsom Field. Enter using door #110, between gates two and three.
