Civil Engineering
English (5), Spanish(2)
I am a military child, therefore, my entire life I've moved/ visited countries around the world. I lived in Europe for 5 years (from 5th grade up til 10th grade) and in those years, I have traveled and visited every single country there. I have also been to Turkey, Egypt, Iceland, and numerous third-world countries. I believe since I have been to and seen countries and places all around the world; I have intense knowledge and first-hand experience of them. And especially all the engineering that certain countries thrive with and lack. I was also born in China, so I know about diversity between countries.
I would want to live with someone who is majoring in some sort of engineering so I can have someone to collaborate with and talk to. Someone who is an extrovert and loves to hang out. Someone who likes to go to parties but isn't partying every day. Someone who cares equally as much as I do about college and their coursework. Someone who is preferably neat and organized. Someone who has traveled around the world or has diversity so we have more to relate with. Someone who has the same hobbies as me such as cooking, soccer, and weightlifting.
I want to be a member of the Global Engineering RAP because I've seen countries and places all over the world. I have seen the most developed countries as well as numerous third-world countries. So being a part of all that and being immersed, I realized I want to attribute to advancing the world all around... in all countries. I think this community will contribute to my training as an engineer because I will be able to learn how to improve countries that may be lacking in engineering development. Especially since I'm going into a civil engineering major, I feel like most third-world countries struggle with even the most basic needs such as roads, bridges, and pipelines. I want to be able to use my first-hand experiences of countries and my knowledge of civil engineering in order to make a world in which everyone has safe water, sanitation, energy, food, shelter, and infrastructure, and can live in health, dignity, and prosperity. I plan on contributing diversity to the residential community. I was born in China and I love my Chinese roots. I want to be able to share my culture. I also plan on making the residential community even more collaborative. I'm a super extrovert, so I love meeting and talking to new people.
