Aerospace Engineering
English (5) , Spanish (4) , Japanese (3)
I have been to the countries of Mexico, England, France, Italy, Monaco, and the Vatican city. I plan to travel to Japan sometime in the near future whether it be as a vacation or part of my Aerospace Engineering degree. I was born in Puebla, Mexico and lived out my early childhood in Plymouth, England, UK. France, Italy, Monaco, and the Vatican were part of my Europe trip with my school during mid-March of 2023. I have always been fascinated and interested in visiting a variety of countries. Not solely for the pleasure of a vacation, but also for the fascination that comes along with participating and experiencing such a different culture and environment. I am very passionate about learning languages and love to explore the world in depth. There is plenty to explore and connect with considering the diversity of our world, culture, languages, social environments, and so on. When I lived in Mexico I was engulfed by cultural foods, norms, and events that would stick with me even to this day. In England, I built my first friendships as I entered elementary-level education, again being engulfed by cultural norms and aspects that I still facilitate. Lastly, my time in the US has helped develop my young adolescence and eventually my adulthood. My time spent in these countries has given me the opportunity to appreciate how diverse and unique people can be, and has fueled my desire to connect with people around the world through learning languages and travelling. I would be very much honored to be part of the Global Engineering RAP; I believe to have an adequate amount of experiences and a burning desire to help my peers and the program advance in its goals for linguistic and international goals.
The person living down the hall shares similar interests with me; it is not detrimental if their interests were not specific in similarity. They appreciate the diverseness of the many cultures and languages throughout the countries of our world. While of course, they have a burning desire and passion for engineering, they also hope to make a real impact on the world. They are very helpful, humble, respectful and a pleasure to be around. They inspire others to make a change in our world, to work towards change and community. They are a very empathetic person, a trait that inspires them to help others not just in their local communities but those around the world as well. The person across the hall from me has their own respective ambitions, desires and plans for post-university life and the will and courage to pursue those goals while inspiring others along the way.
It would be an honor to become a member of the Global Engineering RAP. I have a burning passion for connecting and communicating with various cultures, countries and its people throughout the world. Alongside my love for advanced math, problem solving, and technology, I take great joy in learning various languages to connect myself with cultures that would otherwise be a complete mystery to me. I respect those with a desire to do the same and inspire others. I plan to contribute to my residential community by helping organize events, participating in the co-curricular activities and expanding connections both internationally and locally with my peers. Learning languages, involving myself in international problem resolutions, and connecting with those from diverse backgrounds is what expands upon our foundation of relationships and connection between one another; it allows us to truly understand each other as humans no matter how diverse or different someone may be. I believe that participating in a group with interests in connecting with countries and making a real impact on the world through means of language and engineering would allow myself to develop further as a person and in my studies.
