Julia Hedges received her M.Ed. in TESOL from Concordia University, and a bachelor’s
degree in both English and Spanish from the University of Montana. She is currently
working toward a PhD in Global Leadership. With more than 10 years of TESOL
experience, she has taught ESL/EFL in the United States and in the United Arab
Emirates. Julia has trained teachers, in seven countries, on techniques for delivering their
English language programs using communicative methodology. She has also served on
the Colorado TESOL board, presented at professional conferences including CoTESOL
and TESOL Arabia, and acted as an EL Specialist with the U.S. Department of State’s
English Language Program. Some of Julia’s professional interests include creating
student-driven classrooms and using technology to engage learners.
