Joseph Ikerodah

Joseph Ikerodah is a Nigerian and a PhD student in the Department of Journalism with an academic background in Mass Communication and a growing focus on research that explores the relationship between communication, society, and sustainable development.  

His research interests are centered on environmental communication, health communication, and climate change. He is particularly interested in how media narratives, strategic messaging, and public engagement can influence awareness, attitudes, and behavior toward pressing global and local challenges. His work reflects a commitment to understanding how communication can be used as a tool for social change, policy engagement, and community empowerment. 

A key focus of his scholarship is climate change communication, where he examines how storytelling, framing, and public discourse shape perceptions of environmental risks and solutions. He is passionate about exploring how effective communication strategies can bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and public understanding, especially in developing-country contexts.
