In 2019 and 2021, the Benson Center held a four-week summer institute in Boulder, Colorado.
The intstiute was open to scholars holding a Ph.D. or disciplinary equivalent. Participants received a $5000 honorarium, intended to cover all travel and business expenses, office space, and library privileges. Participants were expected to be in residence in Boulder for all four weeks of the Institute and to participate in the daily life of the program, which included both collaborative seminars and social activities. Applicants from any academic field were elgible and should have demonstrated an interest in contributing to the Center’s mission to foster a diversity of perspectives within the University and to engage with the values of Western civilization.
