Profile

Xiaofei Gao is a historian of modern China. She is currently working on a book manuscript that studies fisheries and the social revolution in twentieth-century China. Before joining CU Denver in 2020, she was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Asia Center at Harvard University and a faculty member at Mount Holyoke College. Professor Gao was also awarded a Luce/ACLS Early Career Fellowship in China Studies for 2023-2024.
