Outreach is one of the Center's primary activities.
The South, Southeast, and West Asia (SSEWA) Outreach Program provides educational enrichment and professional development opportunities for K-12 and community college educators throughout the academic year and summer. These include a series of Saturday courses and a summer workshop to raise educators’ proficiency and confidence in teaching about SSEWA issues and topics.
Through our Program for Teaching East Asia (TEA) the Center for Asian Studies strives to provide excellent professional development opportunities for K-16 teachers in Colorado and nationwide, to help improve the quality of Asia-related education reaching our nation's youth.
In addition, the diverse array of events offered each year through the Center for Asian Studies Speaker Series and other public programming sponsored by CAS introduce various aspects of the cultures and peoples of Asia.
