Profile

Mioko Webster has extensive years of experience in teaching Japanese language and culture at the college level. Before joining UCCS in 2019, she taught at Illinois College for 16 years. Mioko also taught diverse background students at Washington University in St. Louis and at St. Louis Community College evening classes for both undergraduate and graduate students and community people.

Mioko earned a B.A. in Communication Studies from Illinois College, and earned an M.A. in Japanese from Washington University in St. Louis. While at the Washington University, Mioko gained an interest in Japanese literature and anthropology. She is particularly interested in gender women’s studies in Japan.
