An eminent classical flautist, Venugopal S Hegde has been giving concerts since the last 15 years. Intense and luminous are the qualities that distinguish his Flute concerts. His flute reveals a unique style, which is a synthesis of his rich musical experience and his vibrant imagination.
Spiritual Music has always been Venugopal’s heart’s desire. As one of the rising stars among the new generation of Classical Flutists, he has certainly exemplified in this. He received the initiation in to music from his Mother. He stayed in Mumbai to gain advanced musical knowledge from classical music veteran Vidushi Kishori Amonkar and also from stalwart of both Agra and Jaipur-Atrauli gharanas Pt.Babanrao Haldankar.
As a performing artist for over 14 years now, Venugopal has travelled extensively in his career. He has been featured in most of the prestigious venues of Indian classical music. An All India Radio Accredited artiste, He has also recived the ITC Sangeet Research Academy award for promising artists in the Hindustani music 2002.
Venugopal has contributed immensely in the field of classical music. Apart from giving conerts all over India and filling hearts of the people with joy and mystifing them, he is a renowned teacher in the field of Indian Classical Flute. Many of his students are giving individual concerts. He has been awarded “Samskritika Guru” from the Govt of Karnataka, India, in recognition with his immense contribution in the field of teaching Flute.
