Profile

Eben Yonnetti, a Master’s student in Religious Studies, studies the contemporary transmission and translation of Tibetan Buddhism. His primary research interests include the contemporary trans-national and trans-linguistic dissemination of Tibetan Buddhism, as well as translation and ritual studies more broadly. Eben is currently working on what could be called the first cross-cultural sādhana of the contemporary period, a particular ritual that practiced within Shambhala Buddhist communities around the globe. Prior to his studies at CU, Eben worked as a Program Coordinator and Teaching Assistant on the School for International Training’s Tibetan and Himalayan Peoples program, based in Kathmandu, Nepal and has lived and studied Buddhism in communities across Nepal, China, Bhutan, and India.
