The Center for Asian Studies is seeking an undergraduate student to join the CAS staff as an hourly CAS Student Assistant, to begin in February.

Job Description and Responsibilities:

Events:

  • Responsible for attending and recording selected events over the course of the semester, editing and captioning videos, and posting content on the CAS YouTube channel. (CAS will provide camera and computer equipment, unless intern has equipment they would prefer to use.)
  • Schedule will vary, with advance notice.

Communications:

  • Assist with CAS newsletter and e-news.
  • Social media management, including assisting with Facebook and Twitter posts.
  • Contribute to CAS website.

General CAS Support:

  • May be asked to assist with data collection for grant proposals and reports.
  • Some general office assistance for CAS; will be asked to hold weekly office hours.

Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled at CU Boulder.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to relate and communicate effectively with a diverse population of students, staff, faculty, and colleagues
  • Should have the ability to work independently with direction from and in consultation with CAS staff members.
  • Must have strong writing and editing skills and the ability to verbally communicate at a level appropriate to the duties of the position
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn and utilize new software programs. Experience with video editing software preferred.

This position is budgeted for 5-8 hours per week at $15/hour for the remainder of the spring 2023 semester, with the possibility of continuation in fall 2023.
