Looking for a Japanese TA for Fall 2026

Asian Languages and Civilizations (ALC) is hiring a Graduate Teaching Assistant in Japanese for Fall 2026.  

Responsibilities

  • Teach two or three hours per week
  • Teaching and/or related pedagogical activities, proctoring, and grading in the exam week and other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program at CU Boulder
  • Native speakers of Japanese or L2 speakers who can prove their proficiency with the following examinations:

1) ACTFL OPI Advanced-low or higher

2) JLPT N1 Pass Certificate

3) Equivalent results of 1) and 2) above

Preferred Qualifications

  • Good penmanship in Japanese

This is a 35 to 50 % Graduate Teaching Assistantship (the minimum: 14 hours/week, the maximum: 20 hours/week), plus tuition remission for Fall 2026 semester (Professional Masters Programs not eligible for tuition remission). This position reports to the JapaneseLanguage Coordinator and works closely with the assigned Teaching Assistant Professor.
