Film Noire from Bhutan: Special Screening of "Honeygiver Among the Dogs” on September 20th

The Tibetan & Himalayan Cultural Festival in Longmont brings together food, film, photography, and dance.
Join us at 2pm on Saturday, September 20th at the Longmont Museum & Cultural Center for a special screening of Honey Giver Among the Dogs (Monmo Tashi Kyidren), directed by Dechen Roder. About the film: In remote Bhutan, an undercover detective investigates the case of a missing Buddhist nun and falls into a risky alliance with his only suspect - an alluring woman known as the village “demoness.”
Film starts at 2:15pm. There will be light refreshments, chai and momos (dumplings), before the film begins and time for Q&A after the film with Professors Padma ‘tsho (Southwest Minzu University) and Holly Gayley (CU Boulder). There is a special photo and woodcut exhibit to enjoy in conjunction with the film, and the chance to try out Tibetan circle dance to conclude the festival.
