I hope you'll forgive this group approach, but I thought this would be the swiftest way to get the word out: I'm writing from the American Literary Translators Association (ALTA) to call your attention to upcoming ALTA45: Value(s) events which we hope will be of interest to your faculty and students! If you would be so kind as to disseminate this to your audiences, we would be very grateful.

We are excited to be hosting virtual events on literary translation topics through November 2022 as a part of ALTA45: Value(s). The full ALTA45 schedule can be viewed on this webpage, which includes a Google Calendar so you can add events to your own calendar. You can register for each individual event following the links on that page (or on our Eventbrite page, if you prefer), or purchase an All-Access Registration to be able to attend all events.

Events coming up this month (two of them are this Thursday!) are:
Panel: August 11, 10:00-11:15am Pacific Time: Words that Get Off the Page: Translating for the Stage and the Page, with Robert Eric Shoemaker, James Richie, Nancy Jones
Panel: August 11, 4:00-5:15pm Pacific Time: Politics of Red-Tagging Translators: Experiences from the Philippines, with Amanda L. Andrei and Soleil Davíd
Roundtable: August 25, 10:00-11:15am Pacific Time: Literature isn't a Tourist Guidebook: Translating Southeast Asian Lit, with Jeremy Tiang, Mui Poopoksakul, Tiffany Tsao
Please note that if you want to participate (be an active part of the discussion) in this roundtable, you need to sign up by August 18! Only All-Access Registrants can register to be a participant, but anyone can register to be an audience member (listen to the discussion).
Panel: August 25, 4:00-5:15pm Pacific Time: Shared Book, Shared Values: A Collaboration View of Translation, with Jesse Lee Kercheval, Jeannine Marie Pitas, Silvia Guerra, Michelle Gil-Montero

Check out the events through November on this page, and catch the recordings of past events on Eventbrite. We hope to see many from your communities there, and thank you for helping us to spread the word!
