Tea Tastings, Politics, and Social Culture in China’s Ming Dynasty will be presented Thursday, August 11, from 6-7:30 pm at the Global Village Museum of Arts and Cultures in Fort Collins.  Claire Chien, CSU Assistant Professor of Art Education, will explore tea-tastings and Chinese paintings in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 A.D.).

“Changes in tea policy in the Ming dynasty included the evolved technology of drying leaves for preservation,” says Dr. Chien.  “These changes reflected the Ming people’s drinking habits and the different settings for tea-tasting events.”

Admission to the program is free, and participants will enjoy authentic tea from Taiwan.
