Shadow Archives: Finding the Filipino Rough Riders of Buffalo Bill's Wild West

In this semester's A&S Honors Program Distinguished Lecture series, CU professors Emmanuel David (Women and Gender Studies) and Yumi Janairo Roth (Art and Art History) discuss their interdisciplinary project about the untold story of Filipino performers in Buffalo Bill’s Wild West. They reflect on the process of collaborating with one another and discovering the hidden histories of the Filipino men and women who performed as part of the Congress of Rough Riders of the World. By examining Asian presence in the show, their research and creative work offers new perspectives on histories of the American West.

All CU Boulder faculty, staff, and students are welcome to attend!
