The University Libraries is running a database trial for the Japan News Digital Archive available from August 10th until October 31st . The database covers the English language newspaper Japan News (and it’s many name changes) from 1955 to the present. The publication covered world news and aimed to promote international understanding of Japan and often translated Japanese articles from its parent paper, the The Yomiuri (読売新聞). The database can be used in courses that have implemented Cultures and Languages Across the Curriculum (CLAC) to provide a Japanese on world events, or to explore issues in contemporary Japan such as immigration, nuclear proliferation, etc.
The libraries welcomes all faculty to explore the database, linked here, where you can also provide feedback on the resource. Please note that you must use the campus VPN in order to access the database’s content. If you have not installed the CU Boulder Campus VPN, you can download it here.
