The Center for Asian Studies invites CU Boulder graduate students doing research on Japan to apply for the Edward G. Seidensticker Japan Summer Research Grant. The Center will offer several grants of up to a maximum of $1200 each to help fund graduate level research on Japan during Summer 2019.

All graduate students in good standing as of Spring 2019 are invited to apply. Applicants will be required to submit a two-page research statement showing how grant funding would support their Japan-related research project, as well as application form (available here), C.V., unofficial transcripts for all higher education institutions attended, and an itemized budget detailing anticipated expenses for the research project. Funding is limited, so applicants are encouraged to submit reasonable and realistic budgets.

Application Information:

Complete applications are due on Monday, February 11, 2019 via email to cas@colorado.edu. Write “Seidensticker Grant Application” in the subject line.

Award recipients will be required to submit a report in Fall 2019 detailing the nature of their research and the impact of the Seidensticker funding for CAS marketing and program development use.

If you have questions about this opportunity, please direct them to CAS Executive Director Danielle Rocheleau Salaz (Salaz@colorado.edu or 303-735-5312).
